Every time I travel, I can't fall asleep easily as usual, maybe due to the unfamiliar environment. One time I brought Miho Nakayama's 'BLANKET PRIVACY', I found it helped me relaxed. With the songs that are not in fast beat it helps you to have a good sleep and nice dream easily. 'BLANKET PRIVACY' was released in 1993 when Miho was 23. It was a collection and 'new arranged' was stated on the album. I wonder what is the meaning of 'new arranged' as I find song 'For having happiness' more or less the same as its original one. I was very impressed by the 93' version of 'You're my only shining star'. I had heard a number of versions before and I think this version is the most difficult to sing well. However Miho did well in this version. The arrangement also very well, giving me the sense of harmony. If I could watch Miho singing this version in the stage with the chorus, it would be very great. 'Just my lover' was very different from the original version. This one gives me a 'mature' Miho. The 'Last sing~' gives me pictures to imagine with Miho's singing. The tastes of classic in 'Midnight Taxi' and 'Time after time' bring me to dreams in 60's or 70's? (Later the 'Spiritual Kisses' is also a good try) 'Naughty Jewellery' and 'In the morning' express some feeling of 'mystery'. Tenderness can be received by listening to 'For having happiness', 'Tell me' and 'If you｡K'. The only two English songs 'Goddess adventure' and 'Time after time', I was surprised by the former one rather than the latter one. I should refer to the lyric book when I listened to 'Time after time' in the first time. Her pronunciation was not clear but in 95', her 'Smile again' is perfect! Miho has three styles in the album. I like the one on the front cover most. Miho is wrapped liked a present to us! It's cute and interesting. This kind of 'playing of style' was the last one to be seen as later on, Miho always be simple and natural. So, 'BLANKET PRIVACY' is her last album being gorgeous. I like the special effect of having a shining transparency on the cover. It's lovely and never be seen in Hong Kong albums. Maybe I was lucky, I bought the album in Hong Kong but it's a sample! There are words 'Sample, not for sale' printed on the disc and the bar code was covered by a label. I don't know why such a promotion album could appear in Hong Kong and even for sale. However, I like it and I think I'm lucky to have a special version of Miho's album! Next time when you travel and hard to sleep, let 'BLANKET PRIVACY' gives you a helping hand. 私は旅行をすると、慣れない環境のせいか、いつものように眠ることができない。あるとき、中山美穂のアルバム「BLANKET PRIVACY」を持っていったら、それが私をリラックスさせてくれると気づいた。激しすぎない歌で、きっとあなたに心地よい眠りと素敵な夢を見せてくれるだろう。 「BLANKET PRIVACY」は、1993年美穂が23歳のときにリリースされた。それはベスト盤で、"ニューアレンジ"と書かれていた。しかし「幸せになるために」が多かれ少なかれオリジナルと変わらないと思ったので、"ニューアレンジ"とはどういう意味かしら？と思った。 私は「You're my only shining star」の93年バージョンにとても感動した。以前にいくつかのバージョンを聴いたけど、このバージョンが一番難しいと思った。しかし、美穂は上手に歌っていた。ハーモニーを聴くとアレンジもとてもよかった。もし、美穂がコーラス付でステージでこのバージョンを歌っているのを見ることができたら、とてもすばらしいだろう。 「JUST MY LOVER」はオリジナルととても違っていた。「成熟した美穂」を感じた。「ラストシーンに愛をこめて」は歌っている美穂を想像できた。「Midnight Taxi」と「Time after time」のクラシカルな雰囲気が60年代か70年代の夢へと私をいざなう（後の「Spiritual Kisses」もさらによい試みだ）。「野蛮な宝石」と「In the Morning」は「神秘」という感覚を表現している。「しあわせになるために」「Tell Me」「あなたになら…」を聴くと優しさを感じる。２つの英語の歌「女神たちの冒険」「Time After Time」については、後者よりもむしろ前者に驚かされた。私は最初に「Time After Time」を聴いたとき歌詞カードを参照していた。彼女の発音ははっきりしていなかったけど、95年の「SMILE AGAIN」では完璧だった！ 歌詞カードの写真に美穂は３通りのスタイルを載せていた。私は前表紙にある写真が一番好きだ。美穂は私たちへのプレゼントのように包まれている。それはキュートで面白い。美穂はいつもシンプルで自然になろうとしていたので、「スタイルで遊ぶ」というこの種の写真はその後は見られなかった。そう、「BLANKET PRIVACY」は最後のゴージャスなアルバムなのである。 私はカバーについている光る透明な特別な外見が好きだ。それはかわいいし、香港のアルバムでは見たことがない。 私は運良く香港でそのアルバムを購入した。が、それは試聴版だった！ディスク上に"Sample, not for sale"の文字があるし、バーコードはラベルでカバーされていた。実際売り物だったとはいえ、私は香港でなぜそんな販促用のアルバムが出回るのかわからない。しかし、私はそれが気に入っているし、美穂のアルバムの特別版を入手できてラッキーだと思う。 次回、旅行をして眠れないとき、「BLANKET PRIVACY」があなたの手助けをするでしょう。旅行の楽しんで、そして、熟睡してください！ 和訳： sachi 訳者注）かなり適当なので、誤りと思われる箇所を見つけた方はご一報ください（苦笑）。 |
